Job Title: 1st Class Electrician Job Code: 17630 Job Location: Jacksonville, FL (On-Site) Job Schedule: 1st Shift M-F Job Description: The 1st Class Electrician will be responsible for performing all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable. Essential Functions: Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary. Cuts wires to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Perform the requirements of a shipboard or airframe electrician's trade with little supervision or guidance. Read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc. Use of all tools of their trade such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, soldering and expected to accomplish the non-complex tasks associated with electrical installations of cable, military circular connectors, panel box and power terminations, etc. Must be able to travel up to 30% Qualifications: Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience. High School Diploma/Equivalent with a minimum of 5 yrs. of electrical experience. 2 years post-secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 4 yrs. of electrical experience. Must have five (5) years electrical experience installing cables through shipboard cableways, performing terminations on military and commercial crimp and soldering type connectors/connections. Must be able to provide own hand tools specific to the trade. Must be a U.S citizen. LI-AH1
