Position Overview: The Production Director is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of the production operations. This role involves making high-level decisions, setting long-term goals, and ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives. The Production Director oversees resource allocation, performance monitoring, and the implementation of production policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement the overall strategy for the production operations, aligning with the company’s long-term objectives. Set and monitor long-term goals and ensure they are achieved within the stipulated timelines. Policy and Decision Making: Establish and enforce production policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity. Make high-level decisions regarding production processes, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation. Resource Allocation: Oversee the allocation of resources, including budgets, equipment, and human resources, to ensure optimal production efficiency. Coordinate with other departments to align production needs with company resources. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the overall performance of the production department. Analyze production data and implement necessary adjustments to achieve operational excellence. Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor the production management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. Develop and implement training and development programs for production staff. Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with quality standards and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement across the production department. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate production goals, strategies, and performance to senior executives and stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments, including sales, procurement, logistics, and engineering, to ensure smooth operations. Budget Management: Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Monitor and control production costs to meet financial targets. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Extensive experience in a senior production management role within a manufacturing environment. Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Proficiency in production management software and Google Suite. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
