Litigation Paralegal

CLA has an immediate opening for an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a well-established law firm located in the Charleston, SC area. The ideal candidate will assist senior paralegals and attorneys in all stages of the litigation process from discovery work to pretrial preparation, trial, and post-trial work. Must be comfortable with legal research and be able to assist in all aspects of case management. Candidates must have strong communication skills to communicate with both clients and attorneys. This is a great opportunity to get into a strong firm and grow Sample responsibilities: Preparation and service of Pleadings Maintaining case documents/databases Reviewing case documents and preparing case chronologies Preparing the first draft of discovery including drafting and answering interrogatories, requests for production, and requests to admit Drafting and serving subpoenas Legal Document preparation and drafting including pleadings, motions, trial documents, etc. Familiarity with legal terminology and SC Civil Procedure requirements Minimum requirements and other qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate 2-3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal at a law firm Great customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone Strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively Ability to multitask and prioritize caseload and daily tasks Experience with case management system is a plus Experience with state and/or federal e-filing is a plus This position offers competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with the scope of the position and a candidate’s expertise and experience.
