Locum Physician (MD/DO) - General Surgery in California

Job Title: Locum Tenens Physician Job Specialty: General Surgery - Breast Surgery Job Duration: Ongoing Shift: Day - 5x8 - 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of 100 breast surgeries in the past two years License: Board Certified Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Fellowship in Breast Surgery or Extensive Breast Experience as a General Surgeon Job Description: - Provide breast surgery services, including oncology breast surgery and mastectomy/lumpectomy. - Perform lumpectomies, mastectomies including nipple-sparing mastectomy, participate in joint oncoplastic surgeries, sentinel node biopsies, and axillary dissections. - Demonstrate knowledge of high-risk and benign breast disease, as well as survivorship. - Cover clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. - OR time will be scheduled based on availability of OR blocks. - Participate in night call rotation, with call typically conducted via a beeper. - Ability to handle patient encounters ranging from 12-15 per shift. - Participate in pre-approved extended working hours if necessary, but rare. - Meet estimated credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days. - Ensure compliance with all required certifications and board certification standards. This position does not require expertise in reduction mammoplasty, augmentation mammoplasty, mastopexy, and lacks the requirement for other general surgery procedures outside of breast surgery.
