Education and Outreach Managers are responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, administration, and evaluation of educational programs to various groups, including schoolchildren, visitors, teachers, and other program participants. They demonstrate mastery in their specialty area, normally signified by an advanced degree, or significant equivalent experience. They are responsible for the same duties as an Education and Outreach Specialist, however, they operate with additional authority, independence, or level of complexity. Education and Outreach Managers are accountable for the success of the educational programs they oversee, and ensure that these programs fulfill the overall goal or vision of the organization. Perform all duties of Education and Outreach Specialist. Plan programs to generate revenue or participation by strategically guiding and expanding the programs offered through multiple platforms, including online, on-Grounds, or in the community. Collaborate with faculty and administrators which results in the development of high quality, sustainable, and targeted programs. Determine and develop long- and short-term goals, strategic planning, and program development for education programs, outreach programs, and diversity efforts. Cultivate relationships with business, academic, science, and educational groups in education and outreach program development. Recruit, supervise and direct faculty and staff for educational and outreach programs and working groups. Communicate organizational activities including development and implementation of media strategies, journalism projects, website, brochures, and articles. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. This position will remain open until filled. This is an Non-Exempt level, benefited position. This is a Restricted position and is dependent on funding and performance. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Master's degree or a demonstrated mastery in their specialty area normally signified by significant equivalent experience. Experience: At least five year of experience. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
