Certification Details BCLS and ACLS Required; ONS Preferred Job Details Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30). Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS First Time Travelers Accepted; Travel Experience Is Preferred Call-Ins: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Skillset Preferences: Level 1 Trauma Experience and Oncology Experience Skillet Requirements: Minimum 2 Year From A Large Urban or Academic Health Center Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals Staffing Ratios: 1:4 Unit Information: inpatient Hematology/Oncology and overflow Stem Cell Transplant patient population Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided.
