Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Manager-Materials Management Cancer Center. In this role, the successful candidate serves as the Assistant Manager for all the Perlmutter Cancer Center locations including all current and future off-site locations. Serves as a back-up for the Manager when necessary. Responsible for reporting, analytics, budgeting, and IT related matters. Responsible for ordering all storeroom supplies and ensuring an uninterrupted supply of goods throughout the Perlmutter Cancer Center and off-site locations. Assists the Manager in the control of inventory supplies maintained under perpetual inventory. Assists in accomplishing facility inventory turn goals and other inventory related objectives within the department, including but not limited to accurate recommended reorder points, reorder quantities, limit out of stock issues and ongoing evaluation of supply movement. Maintains accurate and timely processing of storeroom requisition transactions to ensure timely receipt and payment. Maintain Omnicells database for all Perlmutter Cancer Center locations. Provides accurate and timely reports to assist departments with any materials management information. Job Responsibilities: Assists in managing all the current and future off-site locations at the Perlmutter Cancer Center and will be the main point of contact for all materials management responsibilities at the off-site locations. Supervises the inventory coordinator. Plans, organizes and manages projects through completion. Assists with annual performance evaluations. Assists with maximizing resources and is skillful in adjusting resources according to workload. Assists in monitoring shift productivity and proactively sets goals to achieve shift productivity. Utilizes time effectively and completes assignments within allotted time. Demonstrates ability to allocate sufficient time for priorities and does the most important task first. Ensures that the standards of operations of the department are in compliance with standards set by JCAHO and other regulatory agencies. Oversees the review of Omnicells for expired items and removal of expired items as necessary. Manages Omnicell database item changes, par changes, and item ID changes. Directs and assigns new and existing labels to new items on storeroom shelves. Assign bin locations in Storeroom to new inventory items, and relocate items from one location to another as necessary. Ensure Storeroom space is maximized so that inventory space is utilized as efficiently as possible. Maintains inventory control accuracy through periodic cycle count, full physical inventories in accordance with institution policies. Manages inventory, establishes par levels, reorder levels and control processes. Initiates follow-up on orders to clarify change, back orders, missing items and discrepancies. Ensures the original requisitioners are informed of order status as needed. Prepares purchase requisitions for all storeroom supplies in a timely manner for all locations. Collaborate with Buyer as needed to assist with unique Cancer Center purchases. Prepares and maintains all required documentation. Actively participates in the budget preparation process and assist the Manager in the preparation of the annual budget. Demonstrate the skills to compare actual spending to budget amounts monthly and explain variances adequately. Prepares system reports as needed for requisitions, inventory management, defective items and pricing. Generate PeopleSoft reports to determine which items are in suspense and need to be moved into inventory. Oversees the movement of items that have been identified to PeopleSoft inventory. Works with MCIT to correct any errors as necessary. Prepares trending reports to analyze inventory turns and identify opportunities for process improvement. Performs other departmental reporting requirements as needed. Servers as the material management liaison to the IT department to troubleshoot any IT related issues, participates in Peoplesoft upgrades throughout the year, and serves as a system expert. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field or a combination of similar education and experience. Minimum of three years of responsible hospital central/supply distribution experience with knowledge of healthcare products, patient care equipment, and their basic function is required. Must hold comprehensive knowledge of inventory control, supply distribution, must be able to respond to a variety of changing demands and conditions. Possess computer knowledge and Microsoft applications. Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $112,951.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
