Position Summary: The Air Freight Export Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of a team of Export Specialists, including agents and supervisors, to meet and exceed customer and operational requirements. This role ensures all export activities comply with regulations, handles escalations, and continuously improves processes to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Air Freight Export Manager will manage vendor relationships, support sales processes, and drive initiatives to support financial performance. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Operations Management : Organize, plan, and oversee daily operations of a team of Air Freight Export Specialists. Act as the subject matter expert, resolving operational issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Ensure proper handling of all export documents in accordance with regulations and internal procedures. Customer & Supplier Relations : Ensure customer needs, requirements, and KPIs are consistently met or exceeded. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, both internal and external. Monitor supplier performance, implementing improvement plans as needed. Training & Development : Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance the skills of the team. Coach, train, and develop team members to build a highly effective department. Sales & Growth Support : Oversee the successful implementation of new customer accounts. Support the sales team and participate in customer visits to achieve growth targets. Process Improvement & Financial Oversight : Drive continuous improvement initiatives for Air Export processes. Support department financial health, including P&L responsibilities. Vendor & Customer Service : Manage vendor-related matters with a focus on achieving high service standards. Address customer inquiries and related customer service functions. Qualifications: 6 years of experience in freight forwarding and airfreight export required. 2 years of leadership experience in the freight forwarding industry preferred. Proficiency with CargoWise software is a plus. Experience in process improvement and reviews is preferred. BA/BS degree is preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical, decision-making, and presentation skills. Demonstrated coaching and management skills. Strong understanding of financial operations and ability to lead others effectively.
