Job Title: Composite Technician I Duration: 12 months (Temporary to Hire) Location: Phoenix- AZ - 85044. Work Schedule: 4/40 Shift Time: 05:00 am - 03:30 pm Job Description: Performs process fabrication related activities by putting together a wide range of Composite Materials like fibrous, epoxy, plastics, ceramics and alloys from simple to complex sub-assemblies and armor panel assemblies using common hand and/or power tools for cutting, trimming and grinding per work order guidelines, templates and shop instruction/illustrations. Must be able to pass a respirator physical test and apply and mix release agents, sealants, solvents, adhesives and resins on daily basis. The work is performed in a moderate to fast paced environment, is repetitive in nature, is detailed, requires critical adherence to established quality levels while completing within an efficient timeframe and workspace allowed for the assigned task. Must be attentive to accuracy and adaptable to work on various projects. Must be able to stand for ten hour shifts. Use measuring instruments scales and calipers. Adhere to all Company Safety Policies and Procedures. Must be able to perform other tasks as assigned related to Aircraft seat cushion component assembly that includes bonding, cutting, grinding of various foam, plastics and laminated materials using similar methods practiced in armor panel manufacturing. Skills Required: Ability to use both hands for manipulating, handling and constructing required Composite assemblies using basic hand tools, pneumatic or electric power tools and other mechanical processes. May be required to move, pull, lift, and horizontal transfer of product weighing up to forty lbs. unaided. Able to read work instructions and work order specific information and apply to task actions. Skills Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend blueprint instructions and specifications. Self-motivated individual. Experience with any composite or armor assembly of components is preferred. Practical all-around hands-on trade skills a benefit. Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a production assembly environment and/or technical schooling in related areas, or any approved equivalent combination of experience, technical training, and/or education.
