In this influential role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive risk management program, collaborating closely with the Board's Risk and Compliance Committee to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory obligations. As a vital leader, you will provide strategic direction for both risk and legal teams, championing transparency and constructive dialogue with regulatory entities. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in risk management, emphasizing operational, strategic, and compliance risks. You will proactively partner with business units to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks to support the company's growth trajectory. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree such as a JD or MBA preferred, alongside at least 15 years of experience in business and risk, including a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within risk management, ideally in a large financial institution. Experience with non-bank financial entities or fintech organizations is an asset. This role demands extensive knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and regulatory landscapes, complemented by strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills. You will set and uphold risk policies and procedures, conduct thorough risk assessments, and ensure alignment of the company's risk profile with its defined risk appetite. Furthermore, you will spearhead initiatives to cultivate a risk-aware culture and play a key role in strategic decision-making related to risk evaluation and management.
