About the Role: We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Fabrics Facility Team in Elkton, Maryland who will be responsible for ensuring that all facility equipment and infrastructure are designed, built, and commissioned to customers' specifications using approved engineering practices and meeting industry standards. The Fabrics Facility Team is seeking a skilled, self-motivated, service-oriented individual to provide Electrical Engineering Support for our team and equipment. This position will be located at our Elk Mills 1 facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs. Pay and Benefits: $116,000 - $143,000 per year Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. More details are available at www.gore.com/careers/benefits Responsibilities: Perform electrical design and hands-on support for facility-oriented equipment (e.g., drives, programmable logic controller [PLC] programming, human-machine interfaces [HMIs], wiring schematics, instrumentation, and motor control systems, building automation systems) Perform design for electrical power distribution services for our plants and equipment power feeds according to NFPA and AHJ code requirements Support skilled trades and consultation with maintenance technicians on technical problems for advanced troubleshooting and w ork with electrical skilled trades to maintain Arc flash studies, breaker coordination, and labeling for each building Support Sustainability efforts within our facilities, including utility metering, energy dashboard development, energy efficiency improvements, etc Lead and be a team member of complex projects from start to finish, including defining project scope, writing specifications, design, build, installation, start-up, and qualification of equipment Create and update electrical schematics, specifications, software, and documentation Prepare design and engineering Statements of Work (SOW) for obtaining proposals from outside designers and manage design consultants to deliver the project within budget and schedule Interact closely with the design group and as an integral member of project teams which will have cross-functional representation that may include construction management, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, process engineers, IT, skilled trades, operations, and procurement Work closely with suppliers on the design and purchase of new equipment and modifications to existing systems including providing field supervision of contractors for installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment including any documentation requirements Be a self-starter who is well-organized, detail-oriented, creative and possesses excellent problem-solving skills Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in an industrial setting or related degree (Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology) Proven experience working as an integral part of a cross-functional team Experience programming PLCs, variable speed motor drives and HMI interface software(s) Experience with plant electrical distribution systems, arc flash studies, breaker coordination, etc. Industrial communications networking experience Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawing experience to generate schematic and other documentation Strong time management, organizational and planning skills Working knowledge and ability to apply OSHA, NEC, NFPA, UL508A codes Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, and complete multiple technical projects and daily tasks Ability and desire to work in a hands-on environment and travel up to 5% Desired Qualifications: Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs and VFDs and Wonderware System Platform (HMI) and e xperience with SKM PowerTools software with an emphasis on arc flash analysis, electrical system modeling, short-circuit analysis, and protective device coordination Experience working with facilities-oriented equipment such as chillers, air handlers, air compressors, cooling towers, medium voltage distribution equipment, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with an understanding of P&ID, HVAC, & electrical systems This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information.
