DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT The Bonton Farms Team is seeking a Sr. Director of Development to support fundraising efforts for mission based programming. The Sr. Director of Development manages a team that has the responsibility of raising 5.5M for the current fiscal year. Overview of Role: The Sr. Development Director is responsible for leading and managing the fundraising efforts of the organization. This includes creating, implementing and evaluating development strategies that meaningfully engage and motivate donors to meet the annual fund goals. The role also requires the management and training of the development team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission of Bonton Farms, a deep expertise and proven track record in fundraising, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in donor management systems is essential for this role. Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Fundraising Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to support the organization’s strategic objectives and annual budget. This includes direct mail and online giving solicitations. Identify and research prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations and government grants. Create and implement donor cultivation and stewardship plans to build and maintain relationships with donors for all levels of those that are involved in the fundraising process including the CEO, the development team and when applicable other members of the Bonton Farms team. Utilize the annual giving campaign to develop a pipeline of prospects for Bonton Farms Major Gifts Program by identifying prospects for next level giving. Donor Relations and Stewardship: Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, conducting regular follow-ups and personal visits. Provide reports, analysis and donor pre-meeting information to President. Create and direct an Event's Committee of volunteers in order to maximize impact and fundraising through development events. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, volunteers, and community leaders. Ensure timely and accurate donor recognition and reporting. Oversee the management and utilization of the donor management system to track donor interactions, giving history, and other relevant data. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the donor management system. Analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities for increased engagement and giving. Grant Writing and Management: Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and goals. Write and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to foundations and other grant-making entities. Maintain grant records and ensure compliance with grant requirements. Event Planning and Management: With the assistance of the development team, plan and execute fundraising events, including annual galas, benefit dinners, and community outreach events. Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and volunteer coordination. Increase engagement with organization's club with a more structured and defined program. Manage event budgets and ensure financial goals are met. Communications and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content. Develop and implement campaigns to increase public awareness and support for the organization. Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities. Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor development staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals. Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising progress to the executive team and board. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. CFRE Preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of successful donor cultivation and solicitation. Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and managing fundraising events. Proficiency in donor management systems including reporting and analysis. Skills and Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficient in using fundraising software and donor databases. Ability to analyze donor data and generate reports. Experience providing community development from a Christian framework is highly desired. Passion and calling to empower families and revitalize communities; and Exceptional communication skills and will have a calm and very pleasant demeanor when working with a wide variety of people.
