The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in server administration, system security, data storage management, and enterprise-level IT solutions. Key Responsibilities: System Operations Administration Monitor daily operations of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 servers, including user support, server maintenance, data migrations, backups, and deployments. Lead system operation administration projects, perform evaluations of potential changes, and provide estimates for completion. Analyze current resources to plan for long-term server expansion and performance optimization. Interact with helpdesk staff, software vendors, and management to provide support and guidance. Install and maintain Microsoft messaging systems and manage system outages in coordination with DOM DoIT. Provide feedback on hardware procurement and collaborate on system development, implementation, and upgrades. Troubleshoot server and software issues, develop training for staff, and ensure efficient system operations. Create documentation, scripts, and processes to resolve future system issues and ensure consistency across accounts. Data Storage Administration Manage and administer the department’s Network Attached Storage (NAS) for unstructured data and evidentiary video. Oversee EMC Cohesity and Data Domain Backup and Recovery systems, ensuring all on-premise servers are backed up. Administer Cisco USC/Hyperflex Storage Arrays used for VMware virtual servers. Perform regular maintenance, patching, and upgrades on storage hardware and software. Evaluate and recommend new storage solutions to improve department performance and efficiency. Manage cloud storage, particularly for preserving digital evidence in AWS. Security Administration Create and manage Microsoft enterprise group policies, ensuring the security and performance of systems across the network. Administer Microsoft Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) for single sign-on access to critical systems such as PowerDMS and Office 365. Oversee Bitlocker encryption services for mobile laptops and tablets, ensuring data security. Enforce compliance with the State of Iowa, FBI CJIS, and Department of Public Safety security policies. Contribute to disaster recovery planning and provide input on departmental IT policies. Additional Duties Serve as a project manager for various IT projects across the department. Provide second-level support for the department’s PC Help Desk, including troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and other devices. Participate in after-hours support rotation for system operations, networking, security, or server issues. Collaborate with the Professional Standards Bureau on investigations and open records requests. Operate a state vehicle as required for work responsibilities.
