Risk (Insurance) Manager

The Risk Manager will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company’s risk management framework, insurance programs, and bond/surety compliance. This role involves leading and mentoring the risk management team, building systems and processes to support decision-making, and applying internal controls. The Risk Manager will proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, serving as a trusted advisor to the department and organization. They will assist the Director of Risk Management in developing plans to address and minimize incidents, as well as work with internal teams, insurance brokers, and providers to manage corporate risks and claims. Job Summary Manage the companies risk management framework and insurance programs. Lead insurance renewal processes, including gathering internal data, organizing meetings, and presenting renewal recommendations. Ensure timely and compliant reporting and handling of claims. Administer claims proactively to ensure quick resolution and proper reserve management. Respond promptly to insurance-related requests (e.g., COIs, contract reviews, claims notices). Lead risk and crisis management strategy planning and execution. Conduct risk analyses to assess operational exposure and insurance needs. Develop risk management reports and identify opportunities for process improvement. Oversee insurance quotes, policies, renewals, and contract reviews to ensure proper coverage. Build and manage a surety bond program, ensuring compliance with client and jurisdictional requirements. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Business or related Experienced with full range of insurance coverages (general liability, worker’s compensation, auto, excess liability, we also need experience with property (we have nearly 700 leased locations), Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employer’s Process Liability, Fiduciary, Cyber, Captives, etc. 5 years of risk and insurance experience for a larger corporation (Fortune 500) Experienced with auto liability, general liability, workers comp, etc While purely brokerage experience will not be sufficient for this role, candidates with a blend of brokerage expertise and recent corporate experience would be considered.
