Job Summary Statement: The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for managing Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) initiatives and regulatory compliance. The EHS Manager will possess a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for sustainability. He/she will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement improvements, streamline operations, and drive safety innovation in our manufacturing processes. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develops and implement comprehensive Safety Health and Environmental roadmap that aligns with the organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility. Ensures compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and other regulatory organizations and entities. Develops and maintains occupational safety and health standards and implements procedures to outline Company compliance with regulatory agencies and promote a reduction in occupational injuries, illnesses, and the associated financial losses. Oversees the injury management program for the Company including medical case management, return to work program, records management, and medical claim payment. Conducts workplace safety and health inspections to ensure compliance with machine guarding, personal protective equipment, and fire safety, air, water, and waste permit requirements. Evaluates and approves chemicals for use by the Company. Maintains a chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets, which are made available to employees. Maintains and trends injury data/statistics and develops strategies to reduce associate accidents and injuries. Manages Company OSHA 300 Log and oversees completion of the annual summary for posting. Ensures that the organization complies with all state, local and federal applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications. Develops and conducts training on safety, environmental and occupational health topics to promote employee safety and health while fulfilling regulatory requirements. Supports legal counsel with environmental, health, safety, workers’ compensation litigation. Develops and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace. Collaborates with Manufacturing, Engineering and Facilities to conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures. Works with team to develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for EHS related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies. Establishes and manage Emergency Response Team, Facility Safety committee and oversees all safety communications. Ensures timely and accurate records and reporting internally and external entities. Promotes environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations. Leverages advanced technology solutions to enhance safety and environmental monitoring, reporting, and incident response. Collaborates with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters. Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices. Manages the incident investigation program and provide direction and support to site management. Develops contractor safety program and assists in monitoring contractors and construction activities to ensure safe work practices are followed Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering, to drive alignment and achieve shared objectives. Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or equivalent engineering discipline preferred. Eight (8) years of experience in Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment. Five (5) years of Safety Leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in the application of EHS management systems. Broad knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health regulations (OSHA/EPA/NFPA). Self-motivated and able to work autonomously to find solutions Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills Ability to manage and manage multiple projects simultaneously ISO Certification preferred, specifically ISO 14001 Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
