CoWorx Staffing Services has an exciting opportunity to join one of our premier clients team as an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor in the Palmetto, GA . This is an opportunity to join an evolving and growing dynamic enterprise. This is for a 2nd shift position working Sun-Thurs 3pm-11pm. Position Summary: Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage associates and activities to ensure efficient maintenance of material sortation / handling equipment, HVAC, building systems, and other equipment in accordance with company regulations and policies. Direct work of hourly maintenance associates daily to achieve assigned goals. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job: Maintain knowledge of, and enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping. Communicate changes to policy, new procedures, and application of safety regulations as they apply to the maintenance associates. Help estimate work priorities with Manager and other staff. Effectively delegate work to group members including training and performance feedback. Plan and coordinate activities of associates in the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems including conveyors, laser scanners, automatic label printers / applicators, chain driven sortation devices and HVAC systems. Plan and schedule maintenance staff work assignments including work coverage for off-hour business activities. Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance associates. Apply company's personnel and disciplinary policies as required to demonstrate consistent management across the department under all conditions. Interface with other departments including Operations, IT, and IE to address and resolve Maintenance issues. Direct and coordinate outside contractors and vendors such as landscapers, handling equipment providers, utilities, and a wide array of facility project contractors. Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety. Interpret vendor requirements to develop, schedule and control a preventative maintenance program. Assist in developing procedures/solutions to maintenance and production problems. Develop solutions and implement action plans for maintenance requests. Delegate work to subordinates and ensure the timely completion of the assigned work. Assist in resolution of purchasing issues as they relate to maintenance needs by interpreting manufacturer manuals and vendor catalogs for the Purchasing Agent. Develop and implement cost savings (i.e., contracts, purchases, process development projects, etc.). Interview vendors for information concerning maintenance products, prices, reliability, quality, and delivery dates. Conduct maintenance inspections. Create tool and shop-floor systems to organize and sustain orderly tool storage and handling. Audit maintenance areas on a regular basis to identify areas of improvement. Acquire necessary tools and supplies to keep the maintenance shop and function effective and efficient. Understand basic personal computer operations including sending and receiving e-mail messages. Support the implementation and enforce the application of computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) for the facility. Understand and demonstrate the ability to access and retrieve work order assignments and enter feedback or historical data necessary to document work performed. Lead maintenance associate training initiative for this effort. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness Internal & External Contacts: Internal: Maintenance Manager, Facility Engineer, Supervision, Operations Manager, Facility Manager, IT Manager, Fellow Associates External: V endors, Corporate IT, Municipality Representatives, Outside Contractors Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct: 6 - 8 Hourly’s, 1 clerical Indirect: 1 - 10 on temporary projects Budgetary Responsibilities: M.H. Equipment Maintenance - 1 million plus, Sortation Maintenance, Maintenance. Parts Inventory, Staff Salary Decision Making: 1. Prioritize daily work assignments of maintenance staff to ensure maximum productivity. 2. Make troubleshooting/repair recommendations to maintenance manager. 3. May substitute for Manager in his/her absence. Resourcefulness/Creativity: Associate should be effective in solving non-recurring problems. Environment: Must stay abreast of changing technology Must keep downtime to a minimum Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines. Should have good leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate team members. Qualifications & Experience: Experience: Preferred 2-3 years of Group Leader experience with 5-7 years of electrical, electronic, or mechanical experience in a distribution environment. Minimum 5 years of direct or related experience in an automated environment. Education: High School Diploma, or GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. An associate degree in engineering technology, Industrial Maintenance or related discipline, and 5 years minimum demonstrated maintenance leadership in a distribution or manufacturing environment or Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in administration, management, personnel management, or any other discipline with 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor. Skills: Must possess leadership skills, troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electrical systems, and excellent communication skills.
