The Division of Laboratory Medical and Pathology at RRH provided comprehensive diagnostic and pathology testing services through our nationally recognized and accredited (CAP, NYS DOH, JCAHO and AABB) laboratories. Certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred, but not required Previous experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit, but not required. RESPONSIBILITIES Specimen & Equipment Management. Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens by microscope; document results on worksheets and in the laboratory information system; assist with fine needle aspirations, specimen preparation and staining; maintain cytology workload records Leadership. Make suggestions to improve work methods and efficiency, reduce costs and solve operational problems; promote and support a positive team environment; participate in the planning and accomplishment of goals and objectives General Maintenance. Perform and document routine maintenance on microscope(s) and quality control rescreening if qualified EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE: $37.50 - $41.00 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
