SE is looking for a Modeling and Simulation engineer with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Land and Air Defense Systems. Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location. The IAMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Communicate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate design plans and requirements analysis. Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects. Develop and maintain modeling tools incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with complex time domain elements. Incorporate radar system concepts including detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms to model their behaviors and performance. Incorporate effector system concepts including guidance and fuzing to model their behaviors and performance. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required. Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance. Active and transferrable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Value: Advanced knowledge of complex Digital Signal Processing with the ability to develop complex time domain signal models for use in design support and requirements analysis. Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline. Demonstrated experience with system requirements capture, design, and decomposition. Advanced knowledge of radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance. Ability to read and understand technical design drawings and electrical schematics. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders, and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Experience using MATLAB for model development. Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
