Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Administrative Graduate Assistant will provide support to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Administrative Office. Specifically, the incumbent will serve as departmental Parking and Telephone Coordinator and will manage key inventory and building access. Working closely with the Department Administrative Specialist, the incumbent will assist with arrangements for departmental seminar speakers(includes travel, lodging and associated meals/receptions) , mail distribution, maintain departmental copiers and room reservations and perform other duties as assigned. The 20-hour per week work schedule will be 4 hours/day Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. & 5 p.m. Minimum Qualifications: Education: This position is only open to Graduate Students who are currently enrolled at the University of Maryland, College Park. Candidates must also maintain full-time enrollment status while employed. Experience: Must have prior experience in a customer service role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications. Preferences: Preferences: Previous experience working in an office environment preferred.
