When completed, the Amgen FleX Batch facility will combine the latest in disposable technologies with traditional stainless-steel equipment to allow for maximum flexibility in operations. The FleX Batch facility will not only feature the best in-class drug substance manufacturing technologies with embedded industry 4.0 capabilities, but it will also integrate sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste, as part of Amgen's plan to be a carbon-neutral company by 2027. Senior Manager Engineering Projects What you will do Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for the department capital portfolio and project management of small capital projects at the drug substance facility in ANC. Lead ANC capital portfolio management of construction, global life cycle asset management, and departmental projects in the areas of DS, PD, SC/Warehouse, and QC Labs Employ Business Analytics to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities Lead Sustainability Program Management of Multi-faceted, Cross-functional, Network Initiative Establish project planning and management process for all small capital projects (DS, PD, SC/Warehouse, and QC Labs) to ensure standard project prioritization and resource loading as well as financial accountability and phase gate processes are in place and well understood by all parties. Roll out project management/planning process in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control & closing of projects. Collaborates with leadership to set strategy and business objectives. Work closely with GFO on construction and global life cycle asset project management to ensure projects priority/capital alignment within ANC. Facilitate Governance project meetings at all levels Foster and manage relationships with key partners. Establish balanced scorecard of strategic and operational key performance indicators (KPI) in line with industry standard methodologies to monitor, trend and analyze capital/portfolio management performance, sustainability and reliability programs. Ensure action plans are established to address performance gaps or opportunities. Communicate gaps and establish the accurate escalation process to the collaborators Find opportunities to optimize organizational efficiency. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR Associates degree and 10 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR Bachelors degree and 8 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR Masters degree and 6 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience And In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or advising the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above Preferred Qualifications: Experience and /or knowledge of industrial, laboratory and relevant manufacturing environments and systems including but not limited to boilers, chilled water plants, refrigeration, compressed air, process heating / cooling, motors, pumps, HVAC and lighting, construction, Manufacturing process/equipment in Biologics, and Automation/Control systems. Experience in sustainability assessments (including carbon footprint elimination, water consumption reduction, and waste minimization) Experience in the application of project management skills and concepts with an understanding of related engineering subject areas Leadership experience with a team with varied strengths of technical engineering and facilities management with an organization in the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industries Demonstrate practical resourcefulness and ability to problem solve using practical solutions Possesses internal personal skill to work with technical scientific and management internal user groups Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and conflicting priorities across a broad range of facilities and engineering subject areas Excellent people skills featuring a demonstrated supervisory style that fits within the Amgen culture and values Interpersonal and facilitation skills vital to forge consensus among opposing clients' interests on critical and time-sensitive issuesimportant in ensuring that, within Amgen's collaborative culture, projects are finished on time and on budget. Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of processes or procedures.
