The Gene Therapy group at SonoThera uses a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and forward-thinking approach to solving many of the current challenges facing genetic medicine discovery and drug development. Job Summary The Gene Therapy group at SonoThera is seeking to hire a technician to become an integral part of the gene therapy drug development effort. We seek candidates who think critically, are highly attentive to detail and work well on a team. This position requires adaptability and an ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. A qualified candidate will have broad expertise in sample and mouse colony management and exceptional organizational skills. This job is a 3-month contract with potential extension. What you will accomplish In this position, you will play an integral role at SonoThera in establishing and maintaining sample and mouse colony organization systems. You will be training research personnel for checking in and registering new samples and mice and maintaining Benchling and SoftMouse inventory database. Qualifications 2-5 years of relevant experience High attention to detail required to maintain inventory and data integrity Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team to achieve technical and corporate milestones Effective written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills Technical Requirements and Skills: Bachelor’s degree required Expertise in biospecimen organization, inventory, and storage, as well as mouse colony inventory Previous experience using electronic systems such as Benchling and SoftMouse to track sample and mouse colony inventory Ability to coordinate sample hand-offs with external partners and off-site storage facilities Able to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners to resolve any discrepancies in sample information Able to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to SOPs for sample and colony inventory management Familiarity with lab safety and safe biospecimen handling protocols Strong record-keeping and organizational skills. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $30/hr to $40/hr USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
