Business Intelligence Analyst 2

Job Summary Works under the supervision of a Business Intelligence Team Leader and/or other analytic leadership appropriate for the scope of work. This role is responsible for working with front-end customers and IT teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. It is essential that BI Analysts build an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues. BI Analysts work with clients to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop BI and data warehouse (DW) strategy. This includes the use of data analytics and additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination. They conduct analyses of functional business processes and functional business requirements and participate in the development of business cases in the support of process changes and/or IT projects. BI Analysts understand how data is turned into information and knowledge and how that knowledge supports and enables key business processes. They must have an in-depth understanding of the business environment and an interest in going beyond the obvious, delving into the source, the definition, philosophy, and foundational roots of a data element in order to create information. They must work well within a team environment. Works on projects/matters of intermediate complexity in a support role. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in statistical analysis, computer science, healthcare management or a closely related field is required. Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in health care, including a minimum of 2 years of data analytic experience. Understanding of relational databases with experience using SQL query techniques. Management of multiple projects with varying degrees of senior leadership; 2 years development of dashboards using Qlik Sense/QlikView, Tableau, and/or PowerBI. Certification in one or more Epic modules within the first year is required. Experience beyond the work experience requirement may be substituted for the degree on 2 years of experience for 1 year of education basis. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree and proficiency in statistical modeling and tools such as R, Python, SAS and/or SPSS.
