Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/23/2024 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Description: Neuro ICU/IMCU Registered Nurse Location: Rosenberg Building Contract Duration: 13 weeks (12/23/2024 – 03/22/2025) Schedule: 36 hours/week, 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including every other weekend. Requirements: Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN License (required at the time of submission). Vaccination: COVID booster and flu vaccine mandatory; only medical exemptions accepted. Certifications: CPR (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS. Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant neuro ICU/IMCU experience. Proficiency with: External Ventricular Drains (EVDs). Lumbar drains. Arterial lines. Experience in handling neuro cases such as post-op day-zero surgeries, acute thrombectomies, administration of TPA, and managing vasoactive infusions. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Epic EMR and ability to navigate basic web-based applications. Responsibilities: Provide patient care in a neuro ICU/IMCU setting, managing a variety of neurological and neurosurgical patients. Float between neuro ICU and neuro IMCU as required. Patient Population: 18 intermediate beds and 18 general neuroscience beds. Patients include arterial line monitoring, lumbar drains, EVDs, acute thrombectomies, and day-zero neuro post-op cases. Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Additional Information: Rotating day/night shifts require flexibility and adaptability.
