Job Details Travel rate is available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/13. Overflow unit for winter census. RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. Job Overview: Registered Nurse position at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina focusing on general surgery and medical tele cardiac telemetry/medical telemetry. Specialty Procedures/Unit Details: General surgery and surgical procedures with no special equipment required. Unit Systems: Medication management through Pyxis, documentation preferably with EPIC experience. Specifics about Shift: 12hr Nights (18:45-07:15) Tues-Thurs schedule with occasional weekends and floating as needed with a potential float to the sister unit which is ER holding coverage. Holiday RTO: Cannot approve 12/24 or 12/25 RTO Job Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 2 yrs OR 1 year with travel experience. Traveler Experience: No, unit accepts 1st time travelers. Locals Accepted/Rate Difference: Yes. Skills required: MS/tele experience, telemetry experience, management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions. Schedule Information Target Ratios: 1:6-7. Shift: 12hr Nights (18:45-07:15) Tues-Thurs schedule with occasional weekends. Float Requirement: May potentially float to ER holding coverage. Unit Specific Information Unit Specifics: General Surgery, Surgical procedures. Telemetry experience preferred for patient care in cardiac telemetry/medical telemetry units. Additional Details AHA or American Red Cross certifications accepted. AHA-RQI and AHA instructor cards are acceptable. Unit Orientation: 36 hours, Hospital Orientation during the first week with mandatory attendance for classes each day. SCRUBS: Navy Blue.
