Mailroom Clerk Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Mailroom Clerk to handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages. This role involves sorting, delivering, and processing mail accurately and promptly, as well as maintaining relevant records and logs. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Pick up mail daily from the post office. Date stamp, sort, and distribute US Mail and special mails (FedEx, UPS, Parcel Post, etc.). Maintain files, logs, and records on all incoming mail. Screen all incoming mail and packages. Deliver special and rush packages. Deliver mail to each department, person, or pre-established drop area as required. Complete all mailings in a timely manner. Sort and stamp outgoing mail. Process outgoing accountable packages. Operate postage machine according to policy and regulations. Prepare for mailing Certified, Registered, Insured articles, and special mails. Maintain files, logs, and records for outgoing mail. Daily pick up outgoing mail and interoffice mail from each lobby or pre-established drop area. Pay $18.50 per hour Essential Skills Experience with mailroom operations, data entry, filing, sorting, and administrative support. Ability to drive a van-size vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Understanding of postal equipment, including standard shipping software. Awareness of postal rules and regulations, with the ability to explain them to clients. Scanning and clerical skills. Strong customer service skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Work Environment Individuals will be delivering mail to 14 buildings, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and office spaces. You must be willing to work in various environments as required.
