Solar Customer Support Specialist | Hybrid Opportunity in Cumberland, RI Join Rhode Island Energy as a Solar Customer Support Specialist This role is critical in managing stakeholder and customer relationships for Distributed Energy Resource (DER) programs, including solar, wind, small-scale hydropower, and anaerobic digestion. You'll play a pivotal part in supporting the development of Distributed Generation projects in Rhode Island, ensuring excellent customer service, proactive communication, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Oversee Transfer of Ownership requests for premises with solar systems. Update ACH and checking account information for incentive payments. Allocate customer credits and address billing discrepancies. Respond promptly to inquiries via email and phone. Deliver forecasting and reporting solutions to improve accuracy and standardization. Maintain proactive communication with customers and internal stakeholders regarding requests and resolutions. Conduct root cause analysis and support process improvement initiatives. Develop Standard Operating Procedures and training plans to ensure compliance and sustainability. Collaborate with Customer Energy Integration, Engineering, and regulatory stakeholders. Investigate and resolve customer complaints, including those filed by external stakeholders, regulators, and elected officials. Promote best practices through quality assurance to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Participate in emergency and storm response roles to restore power or address customer issues. Work Location & Schedule: Hybrid Schedule: Two weeks remote, one week in-office. Office Location: Cumberland, RI. In-office Start Date: Week of December 9th. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3 years of customer-facing experience in lieu of a degree. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams/projects in a technical, operational environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. Commitment to accountability, integrity, and delivering exceptional results. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of electric or gas policies, tariffs, and systems. Familiarity with Rhode Island NET metering, Renewable Energy Growth, and Shared Solar programs. Understanding of customer systems, billing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
