I'm engaged on a search for a growing, employee owned, ENR Top 400 Contractor and ENR Top Green Contractor who is seeking their next Senior Estimator. Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Compensation: $70k- $100k Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Work Arrangement: 100% On-site ________________________________________ What’s in it for you? Job Responsibilities: Client RFP Management: Receive, review, and analyze client Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to understand project requirements. Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid documents and prepare Invitations to Bid (ITBs) for subcontractors. Project Documentation Review: Examine and assess drawings, specifications, and project manuals to ensure accuracy and completeness. Scope Development: Create detailed, project-specific scopes of work tailored to each job. Subcontractor Management: Procure, review, and organize subcontractor proposals, ensuring they align with project needs. Value Engineering: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality. Estimate and Budget Creation: Develop accurate project estimates and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals. Project Scheduling: Prepare detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of all project phases. Subcontractor Buy-Out and Negotiation: Conduct subcontractor buy-outs and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. Site Visits and Documentation: Participate in and document project site visits and walk-throughs, ensuring all observations are recorded and addressed. Support Project Management: Assist the project management team with pricing changes, handling owner/subcontractor change orders, and resolving scope-related issues. Qualifications for Success: Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, including new/ground-up construction, interior renovations, tenant improvements, and fit-out projects up to $10 million. Technical Proficiency: Strong experience in quantity take-offs and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Bid Expertise: Familiarity with various bid formats, including Lump Sum, Competitive Bid, Cost Plus, and Negotiated/GMP. Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Market Knowledge: Experience in the Florida market is preferred but not required. Language Skills: Bilingual abilities are preferred but not mandatory. Educational Background: A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
