Agency Overview: The Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG) is the largest provider of homeless services in Bucks County and has been dedicated to alleviating hunger and homelessness since 1980. The team assists individuals and families facing food insecurity and homelessness in Bucks County. BCHG ensures the community's fundamental needs are fulfilled by prioritizing community well-being through housing and food programs. Our agency touched the lives of over 120,000 individuals in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Our strategic vision is to help 500,000 neighbors annually within the next few years. BCHG’s 2024-2025 strategic priorities include: Housing and supporting 500 families. Provided housing counseling to over 400 people. Serving over 24,000 people through our Food Programs. Position Purpose: The Development and Marketing Manager is a key leadership position responsible for driving the strategic growth of Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG). This role combines development and marketing functions to create and oversee the implementation of comprehensive fundraising and communication programs. Working closely with the Executive Director, Development Committee, and Marketing and Development Associate, the Development and Marketing Manager will develop strategies that increase revenue, enhance BCHG’s brand visibility, and ensure long-term sustainability to address homelessness and food insecurity in Bucks County. Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Development Strategy & Fundraising: Plan and implement a development and fundraising program that meets the organization’s short- and long-term financial needs. Manage the Development Department budget to ensure efficient use of resources. Collaborate with the Development Committee and Executive Director to create and execute a comprehensive development plan aligned with BCHG’s strategic goals. Identify, cultivate, and apply for grants from government, corporate, foundation, and individual donors. Plan and execute major giving campaigns, annual fundraising drives, and planned giving initiatives. Manage and cultivate relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners. Experience soliciting Major Donor prospects. Leadership experience mentoring and guiding development staff. Marketing & Communications: Oversee all marketing materials, website updates, social media content, and public communications to ensure alignment with the organization's goals. Ensure brand consistency across all platforms by reviewing all materials prior to publication. Manage the organization's media relations, including press releases, event publicity, and community outreach. Collaborate with the Marketing and Development Associate to create and update long-form content for the website. Leverage marketing automation software to improve campaign effectiveness. Apply a strong understanding of SEO principles to enhance digital marketing efforts. Analyze data using Google Analytics or similar tools to inform marketing decisions. Demonstrate proficiency in performance marketing techniques and tools. Possess excellent copywriting skills with the ability to create persuasive and engaging content. Familiarity with social media marketing platforms and best practices. Knowledge of HTML preferred for effective collaboration with web development teams. Proven experience in a similar role with a strong focus on marketing and research. Event Planning & Campaign Management: Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, community engagement activities, and public campaigns to raise awareness and funds for BCHG. Represent BCHG at external events, cultivating relationships with corporate, community, and individual prospects. Data Management & Reporting: Oversee donor database management, ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining confidentiality of donor information. Conduct data analysis on fundraising activities and marketing performance, providing actionable insights and reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Manage reporting and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and donor management software (e.g., DonorPerfect). Team Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise the Marketing Assistant and other staff responsible for data entry, gift processing, and marketing material creation. Foster a collaborative working environment across departments and volunteers, engaging the community in BCHG’s mission and development activities. Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills in marketing and fundraising. Grant Writing & Prospect Research: Identify, prepare, and submit grant applications to secure funding streams for BCHG’s programs. Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities and build relationships with potential funders. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as necessary to support the organization's mission and strategic goals. Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in development, fundraising, or marketing within the nonprofit sector. Previous managerial experience required. Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is a plus. Experience with CRM tools (e.g., DonorPerfect) and data management systems. Knowledge of fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and web management tools. Essential Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fundraising management, including annual campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute large-scale fundraising events and marketing campaigns. Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting. Ability to work flexible hours for events and meetings. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Work Environment: This full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position is based at BCHG’s administrative office in Warminster, PA, with travel throughout Bucks County as required. BCHG has adopted a hybrid work model, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work as appropriate. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
