Ultra Sound Tech Location: Fairfield, CA Duration: 8 Weeks Description: Duties: Coordinates daily patient schedule for U/S. Performs U/S studies and insures correct processing and handling. Helps in other areas of radiology such as front desk, reception, etc. Insures proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness. ssists clerical staff when possible. ttends seminars and in-services. Takes call and standby as needed. Promotes a cooperative and positive relationship with physicians and other hospital staff/departments. Performs ultrasound examinations in accordance to established protocols. ssists and instructs patients prior and during examinations. Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards. Responsible for patient confidentiality, safety and well being during examinations. Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use. Reports to ultrasound supervisor all equipment failures and/or malfunctions. Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to the QA policies. Responsible for processing images, organizing paper work and completing charge sheets. Works in other areas of the department such as reception, assisting transfer, transport, etc. Organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety and the Department of Heath will be met or exceeded Takes call and/or standby when required." Skills: Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patient in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal. Must be able to assist moving and transferring patients as well as moving ultrasound equipment. Education: Graduate from approved ultrasound course. Minimum two years hospital experience. RDMS or ARRT (Sonography) eligible. AHA or equivalent BLS certification. Languages: English Read Write Speak Certifications & Licenses: RRT BLS Skills: Required Ultra Sound RRT dditional RDMS Candidates must have vascular experience (40%-50% of cases), OB and peds experience required as well. Must be willing and able to float to sister facility and other departments as requested and qualified
