POSITION SUMMARY: Provides strategic leadership and direction for all institutional advancement programs within the context of the mission and values of the University. The Vice President of Advancement is responsible the planning, management, and execution of a comprehensive advancement program, including oversight of all fundraising initiatives. The Vice President is the university's leading fundraiser. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Embrace and advance the distinctive mission, vision, and goals of the University by creating and executing a strategic advancement plan, focusing on relationships and fund raising that supports the mission. Ensures the office processes and procedures are data-driven and focused on goals, processes, and metrics to increase the levels of sustainable, diversified gifts and grants for the University's annual, capital, and endowment needs. Garner financial support by creating and personally maintaining a qualified portfolio of 25-35 donors with capacity for major gifts Support the fundraising activities of the President Maintain and foster cooperative working relationships with university faculty, staff, and departments whose cooperation is essential to effective outreach and fundraising. Supervise and lead the Advancement staff in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and securing private and public funds for the University. Design, implement, and oversee the office's gift processing, gift acknowledgement, and moves management systems. Ensure that accurate reports are created for the Board of Trustees, Campaign Committee, and Executive Committee for reporting campaign and fiscal year fundraising progress and results. Supports the Advancement Committee and the Trustee Committee of the Board of Trustees Develops and oversees the Office of Advancement's budget, including facility rentals. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor degree required; master's degree preferred Five years of related professional experience Demonstrated success in raising funds Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents to achieve University Advancement goals Ability to effectively lead a team Effective interpersonal, communication, and teambuilding skills Effective organizational skills and proven ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and/or tasks to achieve goals and meet timelines Effective project management skills Knowledge of social media platforms; experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn Proficient computer skills; experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook TO APPLY: Submit a cover letter, resume and contact information for at least three current professional references.
