Job Type Full-time Description Powder River Industries is looking for a Senior Windows Engineer who will provide support to our customer. This position is located in Washington DC. A successful candidate will provide Windows engineering support and will be responsible for building, patching, and troubleshooting Windows servers. The successful candidate will work closely with other server engineers to troubleshoot issues for multiple data centers and multiple systems. The successful candidate will provide support, implementation, and design services for Windows based systems and will be responsible for resolving and completing assigned tasks, change requests, and act as escalation for support issues. Responsibilities: Research and collaborate with team members on resolutions for issues and acts as escalation for support issues. Provides advanced knowledge and administration of Windows Active Directory, including trusts, functional levels, and migrations. Develops and submits change requests and tracks completion for software upgrades and patches. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrades administrative tools and utilities. Configures and adds new services as necessary. Monitors system/server resources, to include performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability. Understands IIS and related web technologies. Ability to install, upgrade software, configure, and perform general system maintenance on servers and other systems. Analyzes, diagnoses, and recommends corrective measures on server/systems. Works with vendors to resolve system configuration problems, and other issues. Understands network and server design and possesses the ability to suggest modifications for the purpose of improving performance and reliability. Ability to record all relevant designs and implementation diagrams, schemas, and documents clearly and succinctly. Manages vulnerability and reports and remediates as required. Installs SSL certificates on Windows. Contribute to schedule development as requested. Contribute to metric collection as requested. Contribute to process development within the functional area and where the functional area connects to other operational processes. May perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements and Skills: 5-7 years of Experience as a Systems Engineer or System Administrator at a senior level Ability to interact with high level VIP Officials Competent to work in all areas of system administration on MS Stack Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills, supporting novice to advanced users. Experience with VMware infrastructure and knowledge of remote monitoring and change SCCM and SCOM Experience with Active Directory, Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, Active Directory Certificate Services Experience with creating, maintaining and application of Group Policy Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SfB, Microsoft SharePoint as well as Microsoft Hyper-V Experience with VMware vSphere, and VMware vCenter Experience with Citrix XenApp Experience with PowerShell, Windows Print Services, Windows File and Folder Sharing and Windows Failover Clustering Must have a Top-Secret Clearance and must be willing to maintain a polygraph. Must attain all necessary read ins for work. Demonstrated technical skills. High attention to detail with a proven ability to analyze and problem solve. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or other related field preferred Will be required to be on call. Surge support outside of normal business hours (EST) will be required. Salary Description $160,000-$165,000
