We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our HR team in Maryville, TN The HR Generalist will directly support our restaurant operations and restaurant support center employees at all levels of the organization. This role will require application of existing HR knowledge and experience, specifically in employee relations. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors. Conducts investigations and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and terminations as needed. Records and reports on employee relation concerns and writes case summaries as necessary. Provides support and guidance on managing performance. Maintains employee files and documentation for all levels of the organization. Assists in development and implementation of human resource policies. Writes and sends HR-Related company communications. Monitors, reports and follows-up on employment-related requirements including but not limited to federal, state and local employment laws, I-9, employee handbook acknowledgements, Illness Reporting Agreements, etc. Review, tracks and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Supports employee engagement and retention efforts. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other HR duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 2-3 years of human resource management experience including direct experience with employee relations required. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
