Overview: The Region Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for providing executive oversight, strategic direction and leadership for the establishment and sustained success of CommonSpirit Health in nursing professional practice, clinical excellence, optimal value, outcomes effectiveness, service, and patient centered care. This executive is a member of enterprise nursing, executes strategic leadership for all professional nursing, and other operational teams in a region in accordance with CommonSpirit’s mission, vision, values and goals. The Mountain Region CNO will achieve operational excellence through the implementation of the national nursing strategy, development and implementation of other key strategic and operational initiatives that facilitate optimal care delivery, population health management and patient centered, financially sound, safe and high quality care. The Region CNO works in a close dyad partnership with the Region CMO to coordinate regional clinical activities inclusive of the implementation of the CommonSpirit Strategic plan to ensure effective, efficient, and quality team care. Reporting to the Mountain Region President, the Region CNO is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice for the Mountain Region in addition to creating an environment of innovation and creativity through transformational leadership while serving as a change agent. This executive assists staff in assimilating change and prepares/positions them proactively for future changes in health care. Given our vision, the Region CNO must be a strategic and transformational leader for the organization. The leader in this role must drive change within a complex, rapidly changing environment. The executive plays an integral role in delivering on the organization's strategic priorities and the national nursing strategy. Qualifications: In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Nursing degree required; if a graduate degree is not in nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required Active and current registered nurse license Compact nursing license required Master’s or Post Graduate Degree required Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a registered nurse and a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience and 3 to 5 years’ experience as a CNO, preferably in a large, complex acute care facility Doctorate preferred Current certification in executive leadership preferred Multiple facility responsibilities over a minimum of five hospitals highly preferred LI-CSH Your Connected Community: We believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness.
