The Lead Aircraft Component Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft components, ensuring all tasks comply with Airside MRO, federal, and OSHA regulations. This role involves conducting detailed inspections, identifying defects, and taking corrective action to maintain component integrity. The lead mechanic uses technical manuals and specifications to guide repair and replacement procedures, supervises the installation of parts, and ensures the precision of sheet metal repairs. Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities: Lead the maintenance and repair of aircraft components, ensuring all work is performed efficiently and in accordance with Airside MRO, Federal, and OSHA regulations. Oversee the development and maintenance of detailed records for maintenance, repairs, inspections, and services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Conduct thorough inspections and examinations of aircraft components to identify cracks, corrosion, defects, or wear, taking corrective action as needed. Utilize technical manuals, specifications, and engineering documents to guide the correct procedures for replacement or repair of components. Supervise the installation of new or replacement parts to enhance performance or rectify defects, ensuring that all work meets established safety and quality specifications. Perform or oversee the repair of sheet metal components, ensuring structural integrity and precision in all work. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues based on inspections or reports, providing expert guidance to resolve problems and prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed documentation of all inspections, repairs, and reassembly processes, ensuring thorough reporting for regulatory compliance and internal auditing. Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with federal regulations, Airside MRO policies, and OSHA safety guidelines. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior mechanics, assisting with complex repairs and ensuring adherence to best practices. Perform additional related duties as assigned to support overall maintenance operations and improve team performance.
