Job Responsibilities: Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint and design specifications adhering to enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with other solution architects and enterprise/domain architects to ensure solutions are optimized and aligned with Everest's strategic direction. Working with development management, continuously review/monitor project implementations and coding patterns to ensure the alignment with the approved solution architecture. Working closely with project management and delivery teams to review and mitigate any architecture related issues and risks during project execution and lifecycle. Create/maintain architecture artifacts and documentation updating when necessary and communicating changes clearly and professionally. Maintain software and technology currency by documenting appropriately and artifacts are easily accessible by others within the organization. Provide expert knowledge of technical and application architecture to the various development teams. Manage individual workload and deliver on agreed upon milestones and date commitments. Communicate effectively, professionally and routinely to senior managers and the solution architecture team on project progress/status and any major design changes/challenges. Use active listening to define architecture and technical needs, and recommend the appropriate solutions based on a strong understanding of technology and business needs. Proactively identify and capitalize upon opportunities to share/re-use existing components where possible. Identify and communicate business, application and technical risks associated with application implementation. Provide technical guidance to the Development Teams during the analysis, development and testing processes. Guide the selection of the hardware and software components the applications will use for implementation and provide instruction on how to appropriately implement the application components using the respective hardware and software. Collaborate with PMO, BSA and Delivery Lead to develop Cost Basis Analysis. Participate in Product/Vendor evaluation and selection process. Define, design and initiate proof of concept/technology when appropriate. Create and socialize corporate architecture standards and best practices. Create and present solutions to Architecture board using pre-defined templates. Job Requirements 20 years of overall technology experience in strategy, architecture, engineering, configuring and implementing software solutions and services. 10 years of Software Engineering and Solution Architecture experience including engineering practices, tools and standards. 5 years of successful technology leadership experience at an enterprise level within a company or as a consultant. P&C Insurance Experience. Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed organization through a combination of influence, partnership, and authority. Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams. Hands-on knowledge of current technology standards/trends coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills. Domain knowledge of the Insurance Industry (preferably P&C) and value chain as well as the technologies and solutions relevant to this industry is desired. Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising our collective technical competencies. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with other business and technology leaders. Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to tailor communication to all levels of an organization. Experience executing technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategies. Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models Recent experience working in a Scaled Agile environment with Agile tools, e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc. Documented experience successfully leading cloud architecture definition, migration and modernization of the our technology capabilities. Demonstrable experience in engineering solutions through the process of decoupling complex monolithic systems.
