Labor Estimator – Sheet Metal and Plumbing LHH is teaming up with an HVAC company in Sacramento, CA in search of 2 experienced Labor Estimators- Sheet Metal and Plumbing. These are direct hire, fully on-site positions. The estimator is responsible for compiling comprehensive estimates and drafting final proposals for both prime contract and subcontract bids using design/build and plan/spec delivery methods. When using the plan/spec method, the estimator must be skilled in analyzing project plans to determine material and labor costs, identify subcontractor scopes, and understand trade specifications and general conditions outlined in project manuals. For the design/build method, the estimator will conceptualize the project scope by reviewing site visit videos, collaborating with internal engineers, and examining basic sketches to establish a cost basis. Communication with Project Managers, Subcontractors, and General Contractors must be conducted with the utmost integrity. Job Duties: Compile comprehensive estimates and draft final proposals for prime contract and subcontract bids. Analyze project plans to determine material and labor costs. Identify subcontractor scopes and understand trade specifications and general conditions. Conceptualize project scope by reviewing site visit videos, collaborating with internal engineers, and examining basic sketches. Communicate with Project Managers, Subcontractors, and General Contractors with the highest levels of integrity. Receive and level subcontractor and vendor quotations. Reprioritize tasks in a dynamic schedule. Understand job task sequencing and critical timeline scheduling. Apply knowledge of labor rates and material costs. Utilize Microsoft computer applications and estimating software (e.g., Quick Pen). Demonstrate understanding of conceptual estimating and budgeting. Qualifications: 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience and technical training . Experience as a Sheet Metal or Plumbing Estimator required. Software: Microsoft Office, familiarity with estimating software is preferred Ability to analyze labor and apply factors for varying conditions. Proficiency in receiving and leveling subcontractor and vendor quotations. Capability to reprioritize tasks in a dynamic schedule. Thorough understanding of job task sequencing and critical timeline scheduling. Knowledge of labor rates and material costs. Understanding conceptual estimating and budgeting. Demonstrates knowledge of the design/build process. Team player and motivator who can foster collaborative relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Employment Type: Direct Hire Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Worksite Type: Fully on-site in Sacramento, CA Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM. 1 hour lunch.
