The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing medical safety activities and processes for assigned products, with a focus on continuous assessment of safety profiles and benefit-risk of investigational compounds. This role requires providing strategic, patient-focused leadership for medical safety, supporting asset strategies, and enhancing medical and scientific innovation. The Executive Medical Director will also be involved in defining and implementing a vision for patient safety, managing safety issues, and ensuring the effective functioning of the department. Applicants must have a medical degree (MD) or internationally recognized equivalent, ideally combined with an advanced degree, and a minimum of 10 years' of experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, or clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or CRO. A strong background in people management, knowledge of regulatory agency requirements, and experience in a global pharmacovigilance organization are essential. The role demands the ability to synthesize complex data, lead process improvement, and drive change management. The candidate should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be capable of mentoring and leading a team. Experience in a multi-disciplinary drug development environment and a proven track record of working globally and cross-functionally are also required.
