As a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Future Technology Group (FTG) team is leading the cloud gaming revolution, putting console-quality video games on any device Responsibilities Implementation of features in distributed back end systems Ownership of the architectural design, implementation, and delivery of well defined features from start to finish Write and execute unit tests via testing frameworks Triage and fix reported bugs Communicate estimates, schedules, issues and dependencies to technical or project lead Define and craft integration tests with Test Engineering Continually bring new ideas and insights about technology to engineering team Mentor other engineers on standard development methodologies Act as subject matter expert on specific product area Establish relationships with other teams to help improve development process and eliminate inefficiencies Requirements BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience 5-10 years of relevant development experience Skills & Knowledge Expert knowledge of Java required Knowledge of Python and Rust nice to have Expert knowledge of Linux and Bash Expert knowledge in both NoSQL and Relational Data Stores Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Consul, and other CNCF technologies Intermediate knowledge of version control tools such as git and GitLab Additional Attributes Familiar with Agile development environment Gamer is a plus Enjoys working in multifaceted and fast-paced environment Strong communication and documentation skills Accountability Contribution to the open-source community (ie. blogs, source code, etc) Please refer to ourCandidate Privacy Noticefor more information about how we process your personal information, and your data protection rights. At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
