Controller (Remote) Job Description
CRI Environmental Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join a fast-growing, service-oriented company based in Woodville, WI. This is a remote position with occasional travel to our office located in Woodville, WI. The ideal candidate will live within 60 miles of our office.
In this newly created, remote position, you will provide leadership and direction for the financial activities of the company. You will serve on the company’s leadership team, reporting directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer. You will coordinate daily reports, monthly, and annual financial reporting and ensure company accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position is responsible for the management of the accounting department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly financial statement reporting and related analysis for President, bank and Board of Directors.
- Monitoring and analyzing weekly and monthly operating results against budget and prior year, ensuring key business indicators are being met.
- Collaborating with functional leaders to interpret operating results, making operational adjustments as needed to reach set goals.
- Building accurate and achievable budget and forecast.
- Cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as required.
- Performing month end closings which includes reporting bank covenant compliance.
- Assisting and presenting financial results to Board of Directors at quarterly meetings.
- Coordination of annual audit and tax returns.
- Manage personnel responsible for accounts payable, receivable, credit, collections and human resources functions
- Establishing and implementing short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
In this role, you will:
- Work as a key member of the senior leadership team to implement and update proven forecasting model based on unit economics concepts.
- Train and develop accounting/HR team, ensuring that each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities.
- Mentor, guide, and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and performance while upholding the company’s core values.
- Communicate all corporate matters in a positive and timely manner.
- Administer all internal policies and procedures in accordance with corporate, human resources, budgetary, and finance guidelines. Ensure accuracy of staff data records.

- Provide ongoing performance feedback. Identify and take appropriate action for non-performance.
About you
We are looking for an experienced controller who is comfortable and enjoys diving into the details but also can partner with the key business leaders to solve problems. If you are right for this job, you have:
- Solid experience coordinating audit activities and financial reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and accounting activities.
- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation.
- The ability to lead and collaborate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent computer skills, including highly developed spreadsheet capabilities.
- The ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate accounting projects.
- Integrity and credibility of the highest level.
- Mastery of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Your Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years Controller experience or five years of audit/public accounting experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA license is required
- The ability to pass a background check and a drug screen
