The Products Division Finance Director will oversee the financial health and strategy of the division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, while providing strategic business support. This role will serve as a key business partner to divisional leadership and operational teams, driving financial performance, cost control, and efficiency initiatives. The Finance Director is also responsible for ensuring effective accounting practices, and supporting decision-making through commercial costing and cash flow management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee the division’s accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in all balance sheet reconciliations, and driving month-end closing activities.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with IFRS accounting standards.
Manage Accounting (balance sheet), accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) teams.
Oversee all audit and internal control activities to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead the division’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Analyze financial performance trends, identifying risks and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and variance analysis to track progress against key financial targets.
Operations Business Partnering
Partner with operations leadership to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve efficiency throughout the division.
Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects by providing financial analysis, ROI modeling, and performance tracking.
Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and other operational teams to identify cost savings opportunities and enhance profitability.
Commercial Costing & Cash Flow Management
Support costing models and analysis to ensure accurate product costing and margin assessment.
Review new orders cashflows models to ensure projects are cash positive throughout.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis, with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), financial reporting tools, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and financial best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
CPA, CMA, or MBA is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or products-based industry is highly desirable.
Experience working in an international environment and managing teams.
