Responsibilities:
Site Alignment with Lean Six Sigma Vision, Strategy & Roadmap:
Work closely with Management team, AO Lean Champions to introduce and sustain Lean Six Sigma culture into the site and to ensure alignment and synchronization of Lean Six Sigma mission in supporting company business plan.
Advise Management and provide strategic direction on Lean Six Sigma projects selection, integration of resources and prioritization.
Monitor, measure and continuously improve the site Lean Six Sigma initiatives, related to productivity and quality.
Identify innovative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems.
Collaborates with AO Lean champions and the site manager on corrective actions in cases of deviations from set activities.
Cooperates interactive experience/information exchanges with other BU Lean Six Sigma Managers. Informs site management, Lean champions and the BU line about the status and progress of the Lean management efforts and activities on site.
Building a Lean Six Sigma Culture:
Lean Six Sigma Transformation
Lead & coach multiple cross-functional Lean Six Sigma initiatives ensuring alignment with business strategy.
Conducts Value Stream Mapping (VSM) of core processes within the site.
Collaborate with process owners to drive Lean Six Sigma projects throughout the plant to meet business and customer priorities.
Deliver significant operational improvement, customer experience and financial benefit using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Facilitate adoption of Lean Six Sigma methodologies/frameworks and check effectiveness of Lean Six Sigma deployment at the shop floor, reviews & closure status of non-conformances from reviews & audits, root cause analysis & implementation of corrective & preventive actions.
Lead and participate in Lean Six Sigma project management reviews & provide independent assessment of project's quality related performance.
Continuously drive process improvements and process re-engineering for various projects in line with business requirements.
Prepares and conducts Lean Six Sigma trainings (e.g. basics Lean, 5S, GSTD, SMED, SFM, TWI, Green Belt & White Belt Training).
Leads, promotes, and motivates the employees on Lean Six Sigma together with the Lean champions, e.g. through Lean games, best practice exchange.
Work with Head of Departments for selection of suitable Lean Six Sigma Belters candidates to be trained and developed to deliver significant results.
Lean Six Sigma Office
Plan and execute yearly BlueSky process for SGM. Ensure outcome of BSW are updated in BlueSky Masterplan. Work with Operation teams to ensure status is up-to-date per committed timeline.
Ownership for LMT. Ensure reports are completed per committed timeline. Check and ensure formula and calculation of LMT is accurate and up-to-date. Monitoring status and create escalation procedure for LMT target and timeline.
Ownership for AO Operation KPI manual. To train employees on KPI definition and calculation. To inform and distribute to employees when there is new revision.
Work with Transformation Team on project updates. Provide support in LMT saving calculation for transformation projects.
As AO OP Lean assessment coordinator and contact person. Work with Operation teams to ensure Lean Check is carried out. Work with AO Lean Champion on assessment activities and coordination. Report out status and gaps. Develop a continuous improvement plan to achieve next target.
Assist managements in Lean Management & Development of AO LOS (Lean Operation System).
Manage IOI (Innovate Our Ideas). Ensure IOI of SGM follow process & criteria. Check KPI and measurements and provide feedback. Timely report out status and gaps. Develop next level system (eg. Paperless submission).
System Measurement and Feedback:
Track sites key continuous improvement metrics and achievement of KPI.
Build on the Innovate our Idea platform, engagement programs, reward and recognition programs to support innovative thinking while measuring employee understanding and involvement.
Work with Lean Champions to provide feedback on current training modules, processes and tools.
Ensure Program and Cultural Sustainability:
Develop and mentor Lean Six Sigma Belters to facilitate and lead site continuous improvement activity and development of a sustainable Lean Six Sigma culture.
Support AO Lean Six Sigma Team to propose and develop a standard cookbook for policies, procedures and strategies in support of the standardization of a Lean Six Sigma program.
Anticipate and meet/exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively.
Project Management:
Strategic implementation and further development of project management competencies for Penang Plant.
Responsible for major projects in the organization. Project with a significant potential to improve the sales level as well as the EBIT level on site.
Plans in consultation with management committee and customers mid-term international or inter-disciplinary projects, and involvement of related functions such as Sales, Business development, Product development, Product Management, Application and Supply Chain.
Responsible for MPM (Multi Project Management) process in the organization.
Industrial Engineering:
Define and standardize MTM (Methods-time measurement) & improve workforce utilization for AO Operation processes.
Define and standardize machine Cycle Time (CT) measurement method.
Define and standardize machine Capacity and Headcount requirement.
Supports ergonomic improvements in cooperation with the site EHS advisor.
Minimum Requirements:
At least a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years working experience in manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years of experience in LSS. Experienced in train and coach process owners in the use of process improvement tools and the LSS method.
