We are seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer and Communications Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential for enhancing our volunteer engagement and managing communications that promote our mission and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, creative, and able to work collaboratively within our dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities
Recruit, train, and support volunteers for various roles within the Café, including Café Companions, Kitchen support, Front Desk support, Coffee Bar support, Fundraising support, and more.Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, ensuring their experience is fulfilling and rewarding.Organize volunteer orientation sessions and ongoing training workshops.Track volunteer hours and provide regular updates to the Executive Director.CommunicationsWork with Development Manager and ED to draft and distribute newsletters, press releases, and social media content to engage our community and expand our audiences.Assist in the development of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and promotional campaigns.Maintain and update the organization’s website and social media platforms.Collaborate with staff to gather stories and testimonials that highlight the impact of our work.General AdministrationManage donor database ensuring donations are tracked and thank-you letters are sent.Assist with event planning and logistics for volunteer events and community outreach.Maintain an organized database of volunteers and communication materials.Qualifications
Related degree preferred but not required.Previous experience in volunteer coordination, communications, or a related field.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Passion for Recovery Café’s mission and a commitment to expanding its impact.Work Schedule
Part-time, approximately 15 – 20 hours per week, split between the Café and remote. Flexible schedule possible to a certain extent; open to discussion. Potentially a great role for college students, stay-at-home parents, and recent retirees.$20-$30/hour, depending on experience.How to Apply
