Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in product design or UX.
Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment, applying design tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in product design or UX.
3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. 2 years of experience leading design projects. 1 year of experience working with executive leaders.
Ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design within a user-centered design process along with excellent communication skills in influencing product design strategy.
Excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of technical constraints and limitations in designing for platforms like desktop, mobile (Android and iOS).
As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.
In this role, you will be working on visual, interactive, and identity/brand design at a Google scale, helping to further evolve the YouTube brand, product art direction, and visual design system.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, craft, and deliver detailed mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
Direct teams in visual design by defining and establishing the visual direction, process/procedures, and guiding implementation to achieve a high level of quality and consistency.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and teams across YouTube (Product managers, Engineering, Program Managers, UX teams, and Marketing).
Partner with the YouTube UX team to improve the collective visual design language for the company as a whole.
