Horizontal Capabilities, you will drive product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for the entire set of horizontal capabilities in our B2B portfolio of products, ensuring scalability, consistency, and efficiency. About Data Ventures: Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart’s data by developing and productizing B2B data initiatives that empower merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions for the business. As part of this transformation, we’re seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive data productization from concept to deployment. What you'll do: Develop and communicate a clear, long-term strategic vision for horizontal capabilities across our B2B platform, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and customer needs. Define the key horizontal initiatives that will drive value across all product lines. Oversee the execution and strategy of shared services, features, and systems. Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap that balances short-term needs with long-term strategic goals. Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize these initiatives based on business impact, customer feedback, and market trends. Lead cross-functional teams, aligning various stakeholders such as engineering, design, data science, marketing, sales, and account management to build scalable, high-impact horizontal capabilities. Serve as a key liaison between product teams working on horizontal capabilities and those focused on vertical product lines. Enable personalization at scale by meeting the specific needs of diverse user segments without requiring entirely separate product solutions. Facilitate communication and ensure that horizontal capabilities are built in a way that meets the needs of both the platform and the end-users across all products. Collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure horizontal capabilities are integrated smoothly into the overall product ecosystem. Gather and synthesize feedback from customers, product managers, and sales teams to understand the broader needs of customers using various parts of the platform. Define user personas and use cases that span across different products to guide the development of these horizontal capabilities. Ensure features are scalable and adaptable to meet the needs of different customers, industries, and use cases. Work with engineering to define technical requirements and set clear performance and scalability targets for horizontal systems. Oversee the development and delivery of platform features that ensure a seamless and high-quality user experience across the entire suite. Monitor key metrics (e.g., uptime, performance, user adoption) and make adjustments as needed to ensure long-term operational success. Research emerging technologies, industry best practices, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for differentiation. Drive innovation by advocating for new technologies, product features, or integrations that can enhance the horizontal capabilities of the platform. Ensure that the platform is flexible and extensible, enabling future growth and adaptation to new business models or customer needs. What you’ll bring: Vision and strategies
for your product family, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives. Ability to drive business plans and projects
by identifying the member and operational needs of the product. Solutions to large business challenges
– communicate business and member needs to key partners to implement products and timelines. Build a team environment
by selecting, training, and mentoring. Evaluate the effectiveness
of your products and initiatives to improve adoption, profitability, revenue, and efficiency with participating stakeholders and users. Supervisory experience is preferred.
