Purpose of the Job:
The Project Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing projects with both strategic insight and operational acumen. Responsible for ensuring optimal utilization of technical and human resources, the Project Director is dedicated to achieving timely completion within specified parameters and budget constraints. From project initiation to culmination, meticulous planning, monitoring, and management of engineering and construction projects are paramount.
Key Areas of Responsibility (KARs):
HSE and Quality:
Uphold the highest standards of Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements, aligning them with Linxon’s and client governance.
Ensure timely acquisition of permits and legal documentation, adhering to regulatory standards.
Maintain unwavering commitment to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, with meticulous implementation of project quality plans.
Profit & Loss:
Assume overall responsibility for managing large-scale, multimillion-pound projects, encompassing commercial, technical, and site construction responsibilities to achieve or surpass performance targets.
Develop cost-effective plans to facilitate effective project completion while meticulously monitoring building progress, financial aspects, and project quality.
Leadership:
Manage a diverse portfolio of complex projects, including resource allocation, recruitment, and addressing individual performance challenges.
Enable project managers to effectively supervise and manage their teams, fostering a culture of autonomy and accountability.
Project Lifecycle:
Secure essential resources and leverage formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes efficiently.
Demonstrate a holistic understanding of organizational context, ensuring alignment of project approaches, timing, and impact.
Provide strategic guidance and leadership to project managers, facilitating effective decision-making and implementation.
Support future order capture through valuable insights and knowledge sharing with sales and tendering teams.
Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the senior customer interface for allocated projects, ensuring proactive engagement and exceeding customer expectations.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and the Supply Chain Function to select subcontracted activities, plant, and services, negotiating contract terms and conditions.
Maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and project managers, providing comprehensive progress reports and fostering strong relationships.
Market Knowledge:
Stay abreast of industry developments, market trends, and competitors’ activities, sharing insights and knowledge proactively.
Risk Management:
Effectively manage risks to mitigate delays or reputational damage, while identifying opportunities for enhanced project outcomes.
Foster proactive opportunity management strategies towards customers and contracted supply chain partners/sub-contractors.
