Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring an Associate Director, Continuous Improvement who will work collaboratively with the BioAnalytics Site Leader and the entire CI team to ensure attainment of CI excellence across the KC, BioAnalytics site. This includes building expertise, establishing predictable and consistent processes, focusing on business priorities, and accelerating new technologies. This role will support the development of the site leadership team on lean principles. The role will also play a pivotal role in mentoring the site leadership team to embed the skills and behaviors that will result in a sustainable continuous improvement culture within the KC, BioAnalytics site and ensuring that there is proper focus on standardization, simplification, and rapid adoption of best practices.

This is a full-time role position: Monday – Friday, days.

The Role:

Develop and align the site's Strategic Plan across site functional groups to ensure both short-term and long-term initiatives drive toward and contribute to Site/Network Strategic Plan;

This role will be part of the site leadership team. Will partner with Site SLT, Network leadership team to identify best practices, gaps to develop a 3-5 year site strategy and annual objectives;

Directs and/or manages all assigned strategic programs on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives;

Identify and develop enterprise benchmarks for Catalent Value Drivers (CVD’s) for leaders to be able to create strategic plans;

Develop and provide oversight of site CI governance and programming. Responsible to develop methodology, system, and socialization of site CI programming including performance to savings targets;

Champions continuous improvement through deployment of Lean and Six Sigma programs, “The Catalent Way” (TCW) program;

Identify continuous improvement opportunities throughout the organization by routinely studying, prioritizing, and selecting projects that leverage lean six sigma tools to drive improvements in key site KPIs.

Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity. Directs the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.

Provide outstanding change management leadership. Utilize, teach and enforce use of process improvement and change management tools.

Lead teams to deliver specific business process improvement initiatives with a complex or multi-functional scope.

The Candidate:

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Life Science, Engineering or Business field required;

Minimum Seven (7) years of relevant work experience required;

Three (3) years of experience in Biologics, Commercial stage manufacturing/laboratory related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence preferred;

Four (4) years of experience leading team improvement efforts in laboratory/production facilities required;

Experience in a GMP regulated environment required;

Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from a reputable organization or equivalent experience required;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, including the executive leadership team;

Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environment;

Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience;

Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
