MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity (the project) applies best practices and explores innovations to increase equitable immunization coverage in USAID-supported countries. The project is USAID’s flagship technical assistance mechanism for immunization and is active in 10 countries and has supported 20 countries. It builds countries’ capacity to identify and overcome barriers to reaching zero-dose and underimmunized children and older populations with life-saving vaccines and other integrated health services, including rebuilding immunization systems adversely affected by the pandemic.

The Project Director, working with a senior management team, will be an inspirational and innovative leader, possessing the technical expertise, drive, integrity, credibility, and strategic mindset to be successful in a complex and dynamic environment. They will oversee strategic planning of program activities to support objectives and technical initiatives, lead the senior management team, supervise programmatic, technical, and administrative operations, including decision making for resource allocation, program priorities, and evaluation. They will work closely with the Deputy Project Director to ensure consortium partners’ coordinated inputs into the program’s technical quality and management, ensuring transparency, strong communication, and staff development. The Project Director will serve as chief technical and management representative to USAID, other Momentum awards, international agencies, regional institutions, government ministries, and other key stakeholders.

This position reports to the Director, Global Programs and works in close collaboration with the Deputy Project Director and the Senior Management Team. The Project Director position is based in Arlington, VA. RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides overall leadership and direction to the project team in defining program goals and objectives and ensuring the achievement and delivery of high-quality outcomes and impact. Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of project activities, including strategic planning, work planning and management, and prioritization and allocation of resources to ensure achievement of results. Manages consortium relationship and ensures transparency, equity, strong communication, and organizational and staff development across the partners and collaborators while assuring quality of contributions. Leads engagement with USAID team and ensures technical and management alignment for project objectives and implementation at the Global and Mission level. Serves as the lead project and technical representative with other MOMENTUM projects, donors, international and national agencies/NGOs, regional institutions, government ministries, and other key stakeholders. Directly supervises the Senior Management Team in strategic decision-making and program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, encouraging innovation and technical excellence in meeting project goals, objectives, and indicators. Ensures human resources, project systems, finance, and management are efficient for project implementation. Performs other duties as determined. QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Masters or Advanced degree in public health, medicine, or related health field. Experience:

Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience in progressively senior roles, including 5 years in leadership role on an international development project implementing at a global scale. Technical:

Demonstrable expertise in immunization and related fields in MNCH; skilled in global policy and strategy development and has demonstrable ability to lead technically sound implementation. Travel:

Ability and willingness to travel internationally. Languages:
