We break the cycle of economic inequality - striving to create a vibrant, thriving community. Recognizing the urgency of addressing economic disparity, we focus on increasing the availability of high-quality early care and education and access to pivotal resources to dismantle economic barriers in Central Texas. Our united front includes dedicated donors, volunteers, corporate and civic partners, staff, and an engaged community. Together, we leverage data, coalitions, services, and advocacy to transform Central Texas, responding to urgent needs with lasting, impactful solutions. Who we want: We are seeking a visionary and passionate leader who is deeply committed to creating positive change in the Greater Austin community. The ideal candidate will bring a dynamic, adaptable management style and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including nonprofit partners, corporate leaders, government agencies, community volunteers, individual donors, foundations, and our Board of Directors. As CEO, you will drive the strategic direction of United Way for Greater Austin, working closely with the Board and Leadership Team to define long-term goals and execute operational plans that maximize impact. You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization, ensuring that United Way for Greater Austin continues to be a catalyst for meaningful social change and innovation within the community. You bring creativity to fundraising efforts, developing innovative approaches to revenue generation. You communicate our mission clearly and persuasively, motivating donors to support United Way of Greater Austin. What you'll bring: 10+ years of leadership experience
in the nonprofit sector, including at least 3 years as an Executive Director or CEO. Proven experience in community-building, program design, and management, and coalition-building is highly preferred. A Bachelor's degree
is required, with a
Master's degree or higher
in a relevant field strongly preferred. A track record of leading transformative change
in an organization, with the ability to foster a positive culture that prioritizes engagement, collaboration, and inclusivity. Strong change management skills,
including the ability to lead through periods of growth or transition while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values. A commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive culture,
where team members feel empowered, valued, and motivated to contribute to the organization's long-term success. Experience managing organizational growth
while maintaining operational excellence, including a history of successfully scaling programs, expanding impact, and driving innovation. A proven ability to build strategic partnerships
and work effectively within a collective impact model, leveraging collaboration to achieve large-scale community change. Financial acumen and business savvy,
with a solid understanding of key financial metrics to ensure sustainability and make informed decisions that support organizational growth. Experience leading large-scale fundraising initiatives,
with a proven ability to cultivate donor relationships, secure major gifts, and diversify revenue streams. Strong community-building and communication skills,
with the ability to engage diverse audiences and represent the organization with confidence and credibility. A successful track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing, diverse teams,
with a focus on leadership development and succession planning.
