Data Integration Engineer Position Overview
Location: (Hybrid Work OR Remote)
Role Summary:
The Data Integration Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and managing the data processing pipelines that support our products and services. This position involves a blend of tasks focused on data integration, maintenance, enhancement, and ensuring high performance. Candidates should have a solid background in data handling techniques such as extraction, exploration, manipulation, and reporting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and oversee the integration automation processes.
- Understand and apply technical documentation for HL7 interfaces and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues.
- Utilize and develop expertise in EMR integration techniques, including Smart on FHIR and Context Aware Linking.
- Master various EMR integration approaches, such as HL7, both private and public APIs, FHIR, and XML/Document standards.
- Address complex technical challenges related to EMR data integration.
- Create and manage CCD/CCDA/HL7 integrations, including data mapping for diverse applications.
- Handle HL7 data mappings and troubleshoot interfaces before and after integration.
- Develop data pipelines using Mirth to facilitate data integration into VieCure.
- Merge records across systems using specific patient identifiers.
- Regularly update the team lead on project statuses.
- Document development processes, logic, coding, and any corrections made.
**Required Skills and Experience:**
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in data integration.
- Proficient in RESTful API development, with a strong grasp of API design principles.
- Experience with HL7 Messaging from Practice Management Systems or Lab Vendors.
- In-depth knowledge of data migration best practices and implementation strategies.
- Familiarity with EMR data standards, coding schemes, and ontologies.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA compliance standards.
- Skilled in using Mirth for EMR data parsing and ingestion.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with data-related teams (DBAs, Architects, Analysts, Programmers).
- Proven track record of managing integration projects, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Efficient time management and prioritization capabilities.
**Educational Requirements:**
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
**Salary Range:** $100,000 to $120,000
