About the Job:

The Business Intelligence department is looking for a Data Warehouse Manager with a strong focus on data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data solutions to drive the development and optimization of the organization’s data infrastructure. This role is a blend of leadership and technical expertise, providing an exciting opportunity to innovate and shape the data systems that support the organization's business goals.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for staying ahead of trends in data warehousing and technology, an ability to lead cross-functional teams, and the technical acumen to directly contribute to the development of scalable and efficient data solutions. The role offers a unique combination of building cutting-edge infrastructure while maintaining a strategic, leadership-driven approach to ensure data consistency, quality, and performance across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with data engineers, architects, and the BI team to gather data requirements and align strategies, ensuring the data warehouse meets business objectives.
  • Lead Data Warehouse Design: Oversee the creation of scalable data warehouse architecture, including ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and database schemas, ensuring efficient data management and integration.
  • Drive Optimization: Actively contribute to developing and optimizing data warehouse solutions, solving complex challenges while ensuring data quality and performance.
  • Implement Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks, enforce naming conventions, and ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies to maintain data integrity.
  • Lead and Mentor Team: Manage the day-to-day operations of the data warehouse team, providing leadership, mentoring, and ensuring project deliverables align with business requirements.
  • Ensure Cost-Effectiveness: Oversee the performance and cost efficiency of the data warehouse, ensuring optimal resource utilization, tracking expenses, and aligning projects with budget constraints.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep current on emerging data technologies and best practices, integrating advancements to enhance operations and support evolving business needs.

The Skills We Are Looking For:

  1. Technical & Process Knowledge: Manages the design, development, and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring accurate data storage, processing, and availability. Demonstrates expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data architecture, and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse), while actively contributing to technical development and optimization.
  2. Knowledge Application: Ensures smooth data integration from multiple sources, establishing best practices and governance standards for security, quality, and scalability.
  3. Communication/Collaboration: Works with business units and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions, translating business needs into clear technical execution.
  4. Leadership & Influencing: Balances leadership and technical work, mentoring the team and setting clear expectations for project execution and delivery.
  5. Problem Solving/Agility: Adapts to evolving business needs by leading the team in finding solutions to technical challenges, improving processes, and enhancing data workflows.
  6. Project Management: Oversees multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, effective resource allocation, and timely delivery.
  7. Risk Assessment: Analyzes business requirements, assesses risks, defines problems, and drives solutions, engaging stakeholders and advancing projects without requiring close oversight.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

  • Five years of increasingly responsible data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field, including technical leadership, with at least three years of a leadership role in data warehousing or data engineering capacity, and any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, data science, or a closely related field.

Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Certification with a Snowflake’s SnowPro Core and Advanced (Architect, Data Engineer), Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) and Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, AWS Certified Data Analytics, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, Redshift) and automation tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
  • Familiarity with budget and resource management for data infrastructure projects.
